Ewan River Sanitation Project
Since the early 1980s, the Ewan River has been an icon of seatrout and robalo sport fishing in the province. The Goodall family has always maintained an open and cooperative position towards the fishermen, allowing them free access so that they could enjoy this activity. With the passage of time, access begins to be affected for different reasons, among them it is worth mentioning the cutting of wire fences, the realization of massive encampments, the realization of fires, the marking of paths and footprints throughout the private property, up to the installation of permanent shelters in the river mouth area. In addition, the presence of sport fishermen grew to exorbitant numbers, so much so that 45 fishermen were counted in one sector, with a separation of 1 meter between them. Clearly a pressure that hardly any river in the world can sustain.
Diego Castillo grew up listening to stories told by his father about the giant seatrout of the Ewan River. Unfortunately, by the beginning of the new century, their population had already been decimated. Being passionate about sports, caring for the environment and managing sports fisheries, Diego faces the "Ewan River Sanitation" project together with Estancia Viamonte with the sole objective of giving back a little of everything that this family and this sport has given us to the whole society.
